Every year since Act 10 started in 2011, the Average Teacher Salary in this district falls due to the massive turnover of young teachers that earn entry level salaries in the low 40's and increase far below the inflation rate for years. As the few remaining older teachers retire, the average salary has continued to fall, now under $50,000, making the majority of teacher families in this district eligible for Federal & State anti-poverty programs.
This district is located about 25 miles from the Minnesota border. The Republican Dictatorship that rules Wisconsin continues to defund public schools while Minnesota just sent a 2 BILLION dollar funding increase to keep it's public schools #1 in America. Wisconsin is declining while Minnesota is the economic engine of the Midwest.
We strongly urge prospective teaching candidates to leave heavily Republican voting school districts like this one for the much higher pay and benefits offered in Minnesota districts.

Make your district commit to a LARGE raise IF they want your contract returned earlier.
If EVERY Wisconsin teacher in Districts like this one united in HOLDING their signed contracts until 3 days before the deadline, we could accomplish better raises for EVERYONE by compressing the time school districts have to recruit and sign teachers to staff schools for SY 2024-25.
