The majority of residents in this county are  Trump supporters, and spent 2012-2018 Standing With Walker supporting his efforts to screw teachers out of 50 years of improvements to salaries and benefits. Even though Scott Walker is no longer Wisconsin's governor, residents of this county are solid MAGA Trump supporters with minimal support or appreciation for the contributions of strong public schools to the overall success of communities and businesses in their county. 

 

The increase in average teacher salary since 2011  was only 7.2 %, which was far below the 36% rate of inflation. Combine that with crushing workload expectations (Prep time.. What's that??) and a crap benefit package and you have the answer why the Appleton Area school district is ALWAYS hiring more teachers. Teachers are quitting this district on every day ending in "y". 

This district increased Superintendent pay by 30.0% during the same period, placing a priority on maintaining the value of the Superintendent's salary during rising inflation. 

It has been our experience that districts that screw teachers while lavishing huge pay increases on the Superintendent are shitty places to live and teach.  

Therefore we rate employment for teachers in this district as a DEAD END job.
