We rated this school district as a Career Destination district for several reasons. This school district has the highest average salary in Brown County and the average teacher salary increase since 2011 was 39%, which was above the inflation rate. Teachers must like working here because we rarely see openings posted on WECAN, unlike some neighboring Brown County districts that are constantly looking for teachers to replace the ones that are leaving.

The only downside of accepting employment in this district is that you will be living and teaching in Brown County which is a Majority MAGA Trump voting county. The majority of your neighbors support everything President Trump does and expect you to do the same. Dissent is not tolerated.

Most notably to us is that the Ashwaubenon School Board values teachers equal to the Superintendent in terms of pay increases. Pretty rare in Wisconsin since Act 10. We definitely encourage all Wisconsin teachers to consider a move to teach in Ashwaubenon. To the School Board and community there: Well Done!!!!
