We rate this district as a DEAD END job for several reasons. Since 2011, the average teacher salary has increased by 9.9% which is FAR below the inflation rate of 36.4%. At the same time, the School Board has increased the Superintendent salary by 30%. Most districts that screw the teachers while taking care of the Superintendent are terrible places to work.
Likely there is a massive teacher turnover rate in this district. The average teacher salary in this district actually DECREASED by over $1000 from last year, at a time of high inflation.
The only positive reason for accepting employment here is their relatively decent health insurance coverage. In 2025, family premium was $24,700 for which employees covered 12%. More impressive, deductible + MOOP was only $1000, making the total family maximum cost per year to be just under $4000. You won't earn shit working here but (at least right now) the health insurance is decent.
We urge teachers considering working here to go across the Minnesota border for a $10,000 raise (minimum) and much better benefits.
