This district is located about 25 miles from the Minnesota border. The Republican Dictatorship that rules Wisconsin continues to defund public schools while Minnesota just sent a 2 BILLION dollar funding increase to keep it's public schools #1 in America. Wisconsin is declining while Minnesota is the economic engine of the Midwest.
We strongly urge prospective teaching candidates to leave school districts like this for the much higher pay and benefits offered in Minnesota districts.
Average teacher salaries for in Dunn County range from $55,722 to $59,319. Politically, this is Trump Country with about 56% of the voters supporting Trump and Standing With Walker before Trump.
The average teacher salary for the Boyceville school district is in the middle of the Dunn County salary range, coming in at $56,292. Since July 2011, the average teacher salary in this school district has only increased by 12.2% which is less than half the rate of inflation.
For these reasons, we rate the career salary potential for this district as a Dead End job.
April 2024 Referendum Results:
Taxpayers approved a 18 million dollar referendum for improvements to buildings.
We were shocked at the results of our comparison between the median salaries of first and ten year teachers in 2021. While the 2021 first year median teaching salary of $45,000 was pretty average for Wisconsin, this district's median 2021 salary for a ten year veteran teacher was $47,000, or only $2000 more than what this district paid a first year teacher.
With an average pay increase of $200 per year, FAR below the inflation rate, we cannot understand how this district retains ANY teachers for more than a year or two, before fleeing to districts that value teachers' dedication and skills improvement more than $200 per year. Absolutely Shameful!!
Teaching in this district is the definition of a Dead End Job.
