If there was an award for the largest concentration of MAGA Trumper cult members in Wisconsin, Clark County would be in the top 3, perhaps #1. Not surprisingly, the consequences for teachers and public education in general are dire in places like Clark County.  There are worse places to teach in Wisconsin, but not many. Clark County school districts have some of the lowest average teacher salaries of any county in Wisconsin, with teachers in most Clark County districts earning salaries that are below the poverty line.

We rated EVERY school district in Clark County as a DEAD END job due to the extremely low average teacher salaries offered and the minimal salary increases, (far below the inflation rate) for teachers since Act 10. Far better employment options exist than accepting employment in any Clark County school district.

The average teacher salary for the Loyal school district increased by only 8.9% since 2011, well below the inflation rate. Likely this increase is some combination of extremely low starting salaries, massive teacher turnover, minimal raises for the first 2-8 years of employment. We doubt if this district is able to retain teachers much beyond a couple years before they flee for better school districts.

The School Board was able to increase the Superintendent pay by 20.3%. This  increase is actually small in comparison to other Clark County school districts leading us to suspect that this school district has financial problems, possibly due to declining enrollment or high maintenance older facilities.

This district is located in an Ultra MAGA Trump voting county where all residents are expected to be 100% supportive of everything President Trump does. Dissent is not tolerated in ultra-MAGA Wisconsin counties.
