This school district is located in Dane County, which historically has voted around 80% for Democrats and is the fastest growing county in Wisconsin. Buoyed by the city of Madison and the University of Wisconsin, Dane County is one of the most desirable counties in Wisconsin to live in.

The Superintendent was awarded a pay raise of  35%, which was pretty close to the teachers' raise. 

We would rate this district as a Career Destination District, however we are chagrined to find out that many of Madison's longest serving, most dedicated teachers haven't had a meaningful raise in years, as raises have been targeted towards recruiting and retaining new teachers. That totally sucks and will only increase teacher exodus as teachers find out that years of service and experience aren't valued by the Madison school district.
