This school district is located in Dane County, which historically has voted around 80% for Democrats and is the fastest growing county in Wisconsin. Buoyed by the city of Madison and the University of Wisconsin, Dane County is one of the most desirable counties in Wisconsin to live in.

Like every Wisconsin county, some school districts are really great places to work while the school boards in other districts have used Act 10 to make their districts really lousy places to teach.

We suspect that this district may be experiencing financial problems, from some combination of the Republican defunding of public schools in Wisconsin, declining enrollment, or aging facilities with high maintenance costs because this is the only Dane County district where the Superintendent pay actually declined by 19.1%
