Normally we would rate career potential in this district as a Dead End job due to it's barely over $50,000 average teacher salary.
Even though the increase in Average teacher salary kept up with inflation, the $52,000 average teacher salary would still put the average teacher at less than 200% of the Federal poverty guidelines for a family of 3 and qualify the family for food stamps.
This district is located in an extremely poor area. We think that the local residents who support this district are doing the best they can to keep their local district open in the face of years of minimal funding from the Republican Dictatorship that works to kill off public schools in Wisconsin. You won't earn a lot teaching here, but we think that this district is doing the best they can.
April 2024 Referendum Results
Taxpayers REJECTED a $1,500,000 non- recurring operational referendum. Organized opposition to this referendum focused on cutting teacher positions and teacher salaries by at least 20%.
Teachers in this district will likely face some combination of layoffs, significant workload increases, benefit cuts, a salary freeze for newer teachers with pay cuts for experienced teachers in order for this district to continue operations.
