This school district is located in Winnebago County. A majority, the residents of this county are strong Trump supporters, and spent 2010-2018 Standing With Walker  to denigrate public school teachers at every opportunity.

Not surprisingly, public education in this county suffers from a lack of support from county residents who are strong MAGA supporters.  Woe to anyone living in this county, especially a public school teacher, that doesn't openly support Trump or who dares to openly support Biden or any Democratic candidate.

Considering the relatively high cost of living in this largely urban county, average teacher pay and benefits are pretty low. Average teacher pay in this county ranges from $55,596 to $59,452.

The Neenah Joint school district average teacher salary was the highest at $59,452.  The increase in average teacher salary since 2011 was only 4.4%, which was far below the rate of inflation.

The Neenah Superintendent did OK with a salary increase of 28.7%, which was over FIVE TIMES the increase in average teacher salaries and about equal to the inflation rate.

We urge anyone considering a teaching position in the Neenah Joint school district to do some research on how the Neenah school board viciously screwed it's longest serving teachers out of a deferred compensation retirement package back in 2011.

Not only were teacher screwed out of retirement benefits, but the School Board, Administration, and the greater Neenah Community literally "rubbed the teachers' noses into the ground" at every opportunity-opening insulting teachers' during school board meetings, selectively cutting individual teacher salaries by thousands of dollars, etc...

For years after the teachers lost their negotiated district retirement benefits, residents of the Neenah school district lined up to denounce and denigrate teachers during the public comment time at monthly School Board meetings.

During the monthly "rip the Neenah teachers" public comment diatribes at school board meetings, we are unaware of any Neenah school board members stopping or reprimanding any commenters for the often visceral content of their attacks on the teachers working in the Neenah school district

Once one learns the history of how the Neenah Joint school district used Act 10 to screw over teachers, it is no surprise that today the Neenah school district is a frequent flyer on WECAN struggling to keep it's classrooms staffed.

We have no reason to believe that the teaching and working conditions in the Neenah school district are any better today than they were in the immediate years after Act 10 began

For all of the reasons above, we rate the career potential for teachers in this district to be a DEAD END job.

The Republican Dictatorship that has Ruled Wisconsin Since 2011 has underfunded public schools by over 4 Billion dollars in order to provide massive tax cuts to the wealthiest individual taxpayers and big business and manufacturers by severely reducing teacher salaries & benefits.

Sick of the School Board Lavishing Big Raises on the Superintendent While Screwing Teachers?

Time to Send a Message to the School Board.....

Without a Guarantee of a BIG RAISE for signing your contract for the 2024-25 SY,

Make your School District WAIT until the week of June 12th to return your contract.

All contracts due by Saturday June 15th.

This is one of over 200 Wisconsin school districts  have SCREWED teachers (50,000+) since 2011 while giving MASSIVE pay raises to the Superintendent.

Make your District value YOUR RETURN for next year as much as they value the Superintendent

Unless they offer at least a CPI raise for all teachers,

Hold off on returning your signed contract until June 12-14th.
