This school district is located in Richland County, where the majority of residents are huge Trump supporters. Not surprisingly, public education in this county suffers from a lack of support from the mostly MAGA county residents.
The Richland County school district average teacher salary ranges from $46,952 to $51,167.
The Richland school district had the highest average teacher salary in Richland County at $51,167. The increase in average teacher salary for the Richland school district was 10.4% since 2011, which was far below that rate of inflation.
While screwing it's teachers on salary increases since 2011, the School Board has lavished HUGE pay raises on the Superintendent. Since July 2011, the Superintendent pay increased by 77.9%, which was nearly EIGHT TIMES the increase in average teacher salary.
We have found that districts that screw their teachers with low salaries and minimal pay raises while lavishing massive pay increases on the Superintendent and other administrators are often some really bad places to teach.
Last year, this district fired (non-renewed) a popular Social Studies teacher at the high school for some pretty minor infractions. The teacher was loved by students and faculty alike, and had won several local Teacher of the Year awards for teaching excellence. Still, he was terminated. This guy had a family and lived in the community-his kids are enrolled in the Richland schools.
What we thought was the real shame, was that this guy had taught at Richland High School for 6 years and was only earning $43,000 per year!! He could have done better at Kwik-Trip!! There's definitely a reason why this district is always on WECAN looking for more teachers.
With this county being located adjacent to the Minnesota border, we urge teachers considering teaching here to explore teaching vacancies just across the border in Minnesota. Successful candidates could earn starting salaries of $10-15,000 more than what teachers are now earning in Wisconsin, with far higher career salary potential.
We rate the career potential for teachers in this district as a DEAD END job.

Sick of the School Board Lavishing Big Raises on the Superintendent While Screwing Teachers?
Time to Send a Message to the School Board.....
Without a Guarantee of a BIG RAISE for signing your contract for the 2024-25 SY,
Make your School District WAIT until the week of June 12th to return your contract.
All contracts due by Saturday June 15th.
This is one of over 200 Wisconsin school districts have SCREWED teachers (50,000+) since 2011 while giving MASSIVE pay raises to the Superintendent.
Make your District value YOUR RETURN for next year as much as they value the Superintendent.
Unless they offer at least a CPI raise for all teachers,
Hold off on returning your signed contract until June 12-14th.
