This district is located adjacent to the Minnesota/Iowa border. The Republican Dictatorship that rules Wisconsin continues to defund public schools while Minnesota just sent a 2 BILLION dollar funding increase to keep it's public schools #1 in America. Wisconsin is declining while Minnesota is the economic engine of the Midwest.
We strongly urge prospective teaching candidates to leave school districts like this for the much higher pay and benefits offered in Minnesota districts. Stay out of Iowa as that state screws teachers even worse than the MAGA Republican Dictatorship that rules Wisconsin.
Average teacher salaries for in Grant County range from $48,179 to $62,095. Politically, this is Trump Country with about 56% of the voters supporting Trump and Standing With Walker before Trump.
The average teacher salary for the River Ridge school district is the midrange in the Grant County salary range, coming in at $53,211. Since July 2011, the average teacher salary in this school district has only increased by 16.8% which is less than the rate of inflation.
The Superintendent raise was only about 9.9%, so the River Ridge school board prioritized the limited amount of money this district has by providing higher teacher raises. We suspect that this district has some financial problems, likely due to declining enrollment and the general defunding of public schools by the Republican Dictatorship that rules Wisconsin.
.For these reasons, we rate the career salary potential for this district as a Dead End job.
April 2024 Referendum Results
Taxpayers REJECTED a $6,500,000 recurring operational referendum. Organized opposition to this referendum focused on cutting teacher positions and teacher salaries by at least 20%. Teachers in this district will likely face layoffs, significant workload increases, and a salary freeze for newer teachers with pay cuts for experienced teachers in order for this district to continue operations.
