Door County is not only one of Wisconsin's top tourism destinations, it also has 2 really good school districts to teach in. This county is one of Wisconsin's purple counties with about an equal mix of Democrats and Republican. Of course, all of it's legislative representatives are Republicans, owing to the severe gerrymandering legislative districts by the Republican Dictatorship that rules Wisconsin.

Average teacher pay in Door County varies widely, from a low of $44,665 in the Washington school district to $66,618 in the Gibralter school district.

The Sevastopol school district is the second highest paying district in Door County, with an average teacher salary of $64,009.  Like Gibralter, the Sevastopol school district increased average teacher salaries at the inflation level of 25.1%.

We think that the Sevastopol school board could have done a little better for teachers in light of the 51.7% increase it awarded to it's Superintendent since 2011. Double what the teachers earned....

Still, there are way more positives  than negatives in regards to career employment potential for this district, which is why we rate this district as Likely a Good Place to Work. Good Job Sevastopol!!

Teach in this district?

Sick of watching your School Board give big raises to the Superintendent while teachers get scraps?

This year, send a message to the school board that teachers are just as important as the Superintendent.

We hope that you will use the information on our website to find a better district or State to teach in.

However:

If you plan to return to your current district, HOLD your signed contract until June 12-14 before returning it.            (all Wisconsin contracts due Saturday June 15)

Make your district commit to a LARGE raise IF they want your contract returned earlier.

If EVERY Wisconsin teacher in Districts like this one united in HOLDING their signed contracts until 3 days before the deadline, we could accomplish better raises for EVERYONE by compressing the time school districts have to recruit and sign teachers to staff schools for SY 2024-25.

Stand Together!!!  Rise Together!!!

Just by Following the Rules of the Republican Dictatorship that Controls  Wisconsin.
