We have heard that this district is suffering from financial problems caused by the defunding of public schools from the Republican Dictatorship that has ruled Wisconsin since 2011. In light of that information, we rate career growth potential in this district as a "Dead End job".
The average teacher salary in this district was just over $43,000 in 2010-11. Fourteen years later, this district has increased teacher salaries by 24% which was below to the inflation rate to bring the average teacher salary to $53,644.
Starting teacher pay is terrible. In 2025, a brand new college graduate started at $42,000-nearly $10,000 less than beginning teachers hired 50 miles away in Minnesota! Even worse, young Webster teachers get about a $1000 raise per year, it takes 10 YEARS of service to the Webster school district to crack the $50,000 salary level. Barely. Minnesota teachers STARTING salaries are greater than this.
In low-paying districts like Webster, many young teachers get part-time jobs to make ends meet. Never forget that Wisconsin's minimum wage is the lowest in the Midwest at $7.25/hour ($2.13/hour for tipped employees) while Minnesota's minimum wage is $15/hour.
In light of the massive pay increases lavished on the Superintendent, we think that this district could be doing better to pay competitive teacher salaries, especially to it's youngest teachers.
The Superintendent received a $20,000 pay increase last year, bringing that salary up to $160,000. Since 2010-11, the Superintendent has received a lavish 56% raise that was way above the rate of inflation.
This district is located about 25 miles from the Minnesota border. While the Republican Dictatorship that rules Wisconsin continues to defund public schools, Minnesota just sent a 2 BILLION dollar funding increase to keep it's public schools #1 in America. Wisconsin is declining while Minnesota is the economic engine of the Midwest.
This district shares the same negatives of all Burnett County school districts-a local population filled with largely anti-education MAGA Trumpers who absolutely worship Trump and expect YOU to do so as well, if you want to keep your job.
We suggest teachers who are not 100% supporters of President Trump and would like to earn above poverty line salaries, make a "run for the Minnesota border" for the much higher pay and benefits offered in Minnesota districts.
