Since July 2011 when Wisconsin’s Republican Dictatorship imposed Act 10, which wiped out 50 years of improvement to teachers’ working conditions and pay, school districts across Wisconsin have done some horrible things to teachers.

Most districts made severe cuts to negotiated insurance benefits, often going with cut-rate insurance sold by a school board member’s relative, severe cuts or elimination of post-retirement benefits, reduction or elimination of sick leave, including wiping out accumulated sick leave days, increased days and hours of work, mandatory unpaid summer curriculum work, elimination of prep time, and required weekend tutoring hours.

Since 2011, Wisconsin teachers have been the only teachers in America with ZERO protections against termination or non-renewal. We estimate that from 2012-2016, over a thousand Wisconsin teachers were targeted for non-renewal in retaliation for signing a petition to recall Governor Walker. More recently, ultra-rich donors supporting the Republican Dictatorship that rules Wisconsin have donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to take over school boards and purge teachers deemed to be “woke” or not supportive of banning books.

Our goal is to guide current teachers in avoiding the many total “shithole” districts across Wisconsin that have done absolutely horrible things to teachers since 2011, by providing a platform for teachers screwed by these “shithole” districts to share their stories.

To do that, we need YOUR help. Whether a district screwed it’s teachers last year, or ten years ago, we need to hear YOUR stories.

We know that there are hundreds of Wisconsin school districts that took full advantage of Act 10 to wipe out 50 years of negotiated improvements to teachers’ careers. If you were one of the thousands of teachers who resigned after being issued a preliminary notice of non-renewal without warning or being given an opportunity to improve, please let us know. We won’t identify you, but we want to tell the story of how your district screwed you so that today’s teachers can make informed decisions on whether to accept an employment offer. Same with districts that wiped out hard-won post-employment benefits, sick days, paid time off, solid health insurance, etc…

Since 2011, Wisconsin’s mainstream media intentionally ignored the career carnage to teachers and their families inflicted by Act 10. With the complicity of the mainstream media, unscrupulous districts have been able to “screw teachers at will” knowing that their actions will never be published or broadcast by the mainstream media.

Part of the reason this website was created is to tell the stories that the mainstream media has intentionally ignored.
