Survey Highlights:
The Cudahy School district is located in the southern part of Milwaukee County.
The Cudahy School District is one of only five school districts in Milwaukee County where the average teacher salary declined since 2011. Cudahy is a lower middle class community located on the Lake Michigan lakeshore, south of the City of Milwaukee. In the early years of Act 10, the Cudahy school board and administration aggressively used Act 10 to limit teacher raises, and eliminate the collectively bargained salary schedule. With teacher turnover increasing, and finding it difficult to secure high quality new hires, the Cudahy administration decided to work with it's teacher's association to come up with an objective and attainable career salary system, where all teachers are able to reach the maximum salaries. We hope that this cooperative spirit will continue to improve teaching conditions in the upcoming years.
